Supported Internships awareness events

Supported Internships provide a bridge between education and employment for young people with an education, health and care plan (EHCP).

The Services for Young People SEND Team hosts a range of online events to increase awareness about the difference Supported Internships can make to the lives of young people and how employers can benefit from hiring young people with SEND.

Supported Internships Q&A sessions

These Q&A sessions are an opportunity to ask the people involved with running Supported Internships specific questions.

We run Q&A sessions for parents/carers and young people with SEND on the last Wednesday of every month at 10am.

SEND Employment Forums

These termly Employment Forums enable Hertfordshire employers to improve the employment opportunities they provide for those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. They will highlight the advantages of a diverse workforce and include talks from guest speakers and input from young people currently taking part in Supported Internships.

One-to-one information, advice and support

In addition, the Supported Internships Project Officer in our SEND Team is available every Friday afternoon, 2pm–4pm, for one-to-one discussions about Supported Internships via telephone or video call. To book a slot, please email SfYP.SENDSI@hertfordshire.gov.uk with your preferred date.
