Services for Young People Hertfordshire Services for Young People

Information, advice and support at young people's centres

At our young people's centres young people can get information, advice and support with a wide range of subjects from our Advisers and Youth Workers

We offer information, advice and support with issues such as mental health, relationships, personal safety, benefits and finances, housing and homelessness, drug and alcohol use and more.

Young people who are not at school or college can come to our young people's centres for help with progressing into education, training or finding a job or apprenticeship.

Young people can also access sexual health services, including free condoms and free chlamydia, gonorrhoea and pregnancy testing.

Young people can contact their local team to make an appointment before visiting or just drop in during the opening hours. Making an appointment in advance will ensure you don’t have to wait to be seen. Phone or video-call appointments are also available.

The support at our young people's centres is for young people aged 11-19, up to 25 for care experienced young people or those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Support can be provided on a one-off or ongoing basis, depending on the young person's needs.

For young people in school or college, their education provider is responsible for providing impartial careers education, information, advice and guidance. SfYP works with the majority of education providers in Hertfordshire and provides this support in the education setting. A guidance appointment can be requested via the school or college Careers Leader.

Our young people's centres remain open during school holidays for information, advice and support, but are closed on bank holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

Do you know or work with a young person who would benefit from support like this?
Please signpost them to the young people's centre in their area.

Need a space to meet young people you work with?
Professionals who work with young people in Hertfordshire can book a space to meet a young person at our venues during the opening times. Please contact the relevant area team.
