Work for Services for Young People

The vision of SfYP is to meet the needs of young people who are challenged in education, their community or home life, to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.

The primary purpose of SfYP is 'enabling young people to succeed' through the delivery of prevention and early intervention work, to address emerging needs, improve life chances and reduce escalation to more expensive and intensive services.

SfYP is an integrated young people’s service with many staff who have a nationally recognised professional qualification in either youth work or careers guidance, along with extensive experience in a relevant area such as informal education, employment and skills. Essential to supporting these colleagues are locally trained practitioners, including Youth Support Workers.

We are currently recruiting Youth Support Workers and have opportunities across Hertfordshire. Find out more about these roles and how to apply by following the links below:

We offer various contract types, full-time, part-time and variable hours and provide comprehensive initial and ongoing learning and development for staff in all roles.

All staff work to achieve the objectives and outcomes of the integrated service plan delivered through multidisciplinary area teams both in educational settings and in the community. All staff have the essential ability to engage successfully with young people, addressing barriers and supporting their progression. Staff work collectively and independently to deliver this using their relevant training and professional skill sets.
