National Youth Work Week is an annual celebration of youth work across the UK and highlights the positive impact youth work has on young people. Services for Young People (SfYP) will be celebrating the achievements of young people resulting from their engagement with our services and raising awareness of the support we offer.
To celebrate the National Youth Work Week 2023 theme ‘Youth work in every place and space’, young people attending SfYP projects will be completing themed activities alongside the programmed project curriculum. This will include creating artwork to express how engaging with our Youth Workers has helped them, whether that has happened in a young people’s centre, local neighbourhood venue, school or college, or in Hertfordshire’s parks and streets.
Four Young People’s Awards events are taking place during the week to recognise the achievements that young people have made as a result of the support they have received from SfYP over the previous academic year. These awards highlight the positive impact that SfYP Youth Workers and Advisers have had in enabling young people to overcome barriers and fulfil their potential.
Our Youth Workers will also have a presence in schools across all districts of Hertfordshire during the week, delivering assemblies and lunchtime information sessions in most secondary schools to promote the service.
