31 October 2022

This autumn sees the launch of Services for Young People’s new Care Experienced Young People’s Hubs, monthly drop-in sessions for care experienced young people where they can get support from Advisers and Youth Workers at one of our young people’s centres.

Services for Young People (SfYP) helps care experienced young people aged 16 to 24 to become more independent and confident in all areas of their life, helping them identify their goals and, with support, focus on how to achieve them.

Care Experienced Young People's Hubs are relaxed environments where care experienced young people can get impartial one-to-one support from qualified Advisers and Youth Workers to help them progress successfully into adulthood, including help with:

  • Independent living skills
  • Careers information, advice and guidance
  • Finding a job, traineeship or apprenticeship
  • Creating or updating a CV and preparing for interviews
  • Education options and applying for college or university
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Physical health
  • Personal safety
  • Drug/alcohol use
  • Benefits and finances
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Relationships and sexual health, including:
  • Free condoms through the Condom Wallet Scheme
  • Free chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing
  • Free pregnancy testing and advice
